Renewal of the EFFICIENT CO-OPS program until 2015

It is now official, the agreement to extend the EFFICIENT CO-OPS program until 2015 has recently been signed. The terms of the agreement between FECHIMM, representative of the Movement for the program, and Hydro-Quebec predict that 2011 will be the last year for measures affecting the free replacement of bimetallic thermostats with electronic models and to obtain financial discounts for improving the lighting in common areas and outside of the buildings.

From 2012 to 2015, EFFICIENT CO-OPS will continue its measures for the renovation section. The eligible cooperatives will be able to take advantage of financial discounts for replacing their windows, insulating their walls and roofs and adding a mechanical heat recovery ventilator. For more information on the program, go to www.energie.coop or get in touch with Stéphanie Morissette at 514-843-6929, extension 225, or by email at smorissette@fechimm.coop.

The EFFICIENT COOPS program

EFFICIENT COOPS is a free information and support service for implementing efficient energy measures. It is intended for all housing cooperatives in Québec, member or non-member of a federation.

The program has a double goal. It wants to reduce the cost of your energy bill (electricity and gas) and also reduce the greenhouse gas emissions (GGE). 2011 is the last year for coops to beneficiate from the free thermostats replacement and lights for your common spaces. The program will continue for 2012-2015 only for the renovations measures.

Efficient Coop is a service presenting the advantages of energy efficiency awareness, providing an information service on the offers from energy distributors and a support service to the implementation of energy efficiency renovations.
